Music streaming service Rhapsody is now available on Wii U.
All Wii U owners can download the service’s free app via the Nintendo eShop, but an active Rhapsody subscription is required to access it. A 30-day free trial will be available to all downloaders, after which the standard $9.99 monthly fee will kick in.
“We know that close to 91 percent of all Americans listen to music more than 24 hours a week,” said Ethan Rudin, Rhapsody International’s chief financial officer. “We’re honored to partner with Nintendo to bring music to Wii U users, and continue Rhapsody’s goal of making it easy for people to listen to the music they love wherever they are.”
The Wii U Rhapsody app takes full advantage of the system’s unique design and gamepad, and features full touch screen support. In addition, Wii U users are able to import playlists and tracks from their mobile Rhapsody accounts.
