The second North American Splatfest slipped away from Team Water Slides. Despite claiming victory in the popularity contest, Team Water Slides lost in Turf War victories to Team Roller Coasters. Fans may recognize this as a reversal of last Splatfest's scandalous results, where the cheating Dogs won via popularity.
Team Roller Coasters marks the first time a less popular team has won a Splatfest.
In the prior North American Splatfest, Team Dogs' victory marked the first time Marie's team has won. Continuing the North American tradition of firsts, Team Roller Coasters is the first team to lose in popularity and still win the overall Splatfest.
Sadly this means the North American Splatfest is 0-2 when it comes to making the right choice. One can only assume that Team Water Slides let victory slip away from them because their star players were busy enjoying actual water slides, a summer attraction that's better for you, cheaper, and more fun than a typical roller coaster.
Oh well, I'm sure North America will have a proper winner eventually. Until then, congrats to Team Roller Coasters on their hollow, meaningless victory, I guess.
