Rift comes to Steam for free, gets 3 new packs

Trion Worlds has brought its massively multiplayer online role-playing game Rift to Steam.

The developer is also introducing three exclusive new packs for those who don't mind spending a little cash on the free-to-play game, which includes all 16 major updates. The cheapest pack costs $20, the second is twice as much at $40, and the last pack is priced at a whopping $100.

Rift ditched subscriptions for the free-to-play model back in June.
