Rime release date and price revealed, but it will cost you more on Nintendo Switch

Tequila Works has announced the release date for the long-awaited game Rime today along with its price. There is, however, an interesting piece of information in that Rime on one console will cost you 33% more than the rest. 

Yes, you read that correctly. In a press release today, the developer revealed that Rime would cost $29.99 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC when it releases in May. The Nintendo Switch version will come a bit later on down the road, but with a price tag of $39.99. No exact reason for the price difference was mentioned, and the only reason we can come up with is the Switch's portable gaming. 

While this may sound like a lame reason, we are racking our heads to come up with another. RiME is a single-player puzzle adventure game about discovery, experienced through the eyes of a young boy who awakens on a mysterious island after shipwrecking off its coast. Players must navigate the island’s secrets by making use of light, sound, perspective and even time.

We've reached out to both Nintendo and Tequila Works for comment and will let you know what we hear. For now, let us know what you think could be the reason for the difference below. Rime will release May 23rd in North America, and the 26th in Europe
