Riot Games responds to ridiculous League of Legends rule limiting LGBT players

A Filipino all-female League of Legends tournament (hosted by Garena), The Iron Solari, has ruled that the teams will not be allowed to have more than one LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) member per team for the entirety of the tournaments day.

This rule was clarified by the event host, Garena, with this example:

Team_A's first game will be 4 female members and 1 gay, then on Team_A's second game, they will have 4 female members and replace with another gay or transgender member.

Their reasoning for the rule on having the one LGBT limit for teams is founded on 'arguments and concerns' raised by participants that lesbian, gay, and transgendered women might have an 'unfair advantage.' The following is a direct quote from the tournament page:

On the other hand, for any competitions, we seriously look at ensuring there's a fair level playing field for all participants.  And there are arguments and concerns from other participants who disputes that Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered Women members may probably have some unfair advantage.

If a team is found to be breaking this rule they will be banned from subsequent Iron Solari Tournaments and banned from Garena-organized events for one year.

Learning this, League of Legends' developer Riot Games has come out and commented on the subject of LGBT players in League of Legend tournaments:

As to what will come with the Iron Solari tournament, time will tell. The Philippines haven't been the quietest community in the gaming community, recently DOTA was banned in a region of the Philippines due to 'youths' being unable to check their rage after losing a game.
