Rip and Tear in DOOM Eternal launch trailer

Id Software’s highly-anticipated follow-up to 2016’s DOOM reboot is only one week away. And in preparation for the occasion, we today get the launch trailer for DOOM Eternal. Bask in the no-nonsense gratuitous action below!

After a painful four-month delay, id Software is ready to once again retake their rightful throne as kings of the first-person shooter genre. The developer already proved with the first DOOM reboot that they still understand the genre like few others. By going back to basics and offering an immensely satisfying shooting experience, DOOM 2016 blew away everyone.

DOOM Eternal is picking up right where the reboot left and turns up the already ridiculous action to eleven. The stakes are higher than ever, with Hell’s demon hordes directly attacking Earth. Even more, the real masterminds behind the threat are also in the crosshairs of the Doom Slayer. And oh boy, does he slay.

Hell’s armies have invaded Earth. Become the Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to conquer demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity.
The Only Thing they Fear… Is You.
Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power in DOOM Eternal – the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat.
Armed with a shoulder-mounted flamethrower, retractable wrist-mounted blade, upgraded guns and mods, and abilities, you’re faster, stronger, and more versatile than ever.

Enhancing the gameplay are major additions such as a vicious grappling hook and a massive energy sword. Like the trailer says There is only one dominant life form in this universe, and it carries a steel-barreled sword of vengeance. It’s not you against the hordes of demonic monsters, but everyone in your path against an unstoppable force of violence!

DOOM Eternal is launching March 20th for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Goole Stadia. A Nintendo Switch port is coming at an unannounced date.
