Rise of the Triad isn't remembered all that often by a lot of gamers. That's actually a bit of shame because it was a killer first-person shooter back in 1994. Sadly, these days you don't hear too much praise surrounding this forgotten cult classic. But that's about to change, mother b*tches!
Over the weekend, the triumphant return of Rise of the Triad was announced, and gamers got the chance to experience the upcoming revival's action first-hand at QuakeCon. For those of us who couldn't shoot each other in the face in some heated multiplayer, well, we got a pity prize. Luckily, this pity prize is still pretty cool because it's a trailer that shows off some of the attitude that Rise of the Triad will boast.
The clip (above) gives you a glimpse of what to expect when Rise of the Triad launches for PC. There's blood, entertaining dialogue, and a ton of retro-inspired badassery. The game will feature a single-player mode consisting of 20 levels as well as an intense multiplayer component.
Rise of the Triad will resurrect on your PC via Steam later this year. Watch out for all of the over-the-top insanity if you were a fan of the original, really dig FPS titles, or just like crazy games.
