Canada may have just gone through an election period, but in Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., a similar process is now underway.
From today until November 4, Nintendo is hosting an official tournament for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.'s online community, called "Election Day." Death Match rules apply here, so it's a fight to be the last team standing. Only one will be given the first-place title of "President," while "Vice President," "Speaker" and "Hanging Chad" will be the prizes for taking 2nd, 3rd or 4th, respectively.
For the last little while, Nintendo has arranged for an official competition to be hosted roughly once a month within the game's online mode, the most recent being the "Red Badge" tournament held around mid-September. It's been a way for the community to live on, with recent showings pulling in opponents from different areas of the world, such as Spain and South Africa, versus the US-heavy competition that existed in past tournaments. But in light of the community's quieter activity as of late, it's a question of how many candidates will actually run for office.
