For the second month in a row, Rock Band is getting a new batch of downloadable tracks. On February 17, two more songs "Back to the Shack" from Weezer and "Rize of the Fenix" from Tenacious D will be added to Rock Band's library on Xbox 360 and PS3. Each song will be sold for $1.99.
Last month, three new songs were added to Rock Band's catalog: "R U Mine?" by Arctic Monkeys, "Shepherd Of Fire" by Avenged Sevenfold, and "Something From Nothing" by Foo Fighters.
Sure, it may not be a full return to weekly DLC, but as a user on Twitter noted, the songs share a similar theme in that they are about returning to form after a long absence. Coincidence or some kind of subliminal messaging? If Harmonix's response is any indication, we could be looking at a return to regularly released downloadable tracks, or more excitingly, the reveal of a brand new Rock Band (or maybe some other musical-based project from Harmonix). Either way, I'm excited.
With PAX East taking place next month (March 6-8) in Harmonix's hometown of Boston, it's certainly possible the developer could be gearing up for some big announcement.
