Rocket League will see a retail release in the third quarter of 2016, developer Psyonix and publisher 505 Games announced today.
Hard copies of the game will be available for PS4 and Xbox One at “your local game or department store,” the announcement confirms, adding that bonus content will also be included.
“In addition to the automatic inclusion of three previous Rocket League DLC packs—Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run—the final product will also include some cool, retail-exclusive goodies that we’ll go into detail about closer to release,” Psyonix said.
Interestingly, Rocket League released digitally on Xbox One just this month, landing the game its third platform. More recently, 505 and Psyonix rolled out a suite of DLC such as the Halo Warthog and Dawn of Justice Batmobile vehicles.
Psyonix has promised to support Rocket League "aggressively" throughout 2016, noting that the game has already garnered nearly nine million players worldwide. Evidently, that was enough to earn it a spot on shelves.
