Due to the ongoing DDoS attacks on both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE, developer Rockstar Games has decided to extend the gift-giving in Grand Theft Auto Online.
As you're probably well aware by now, PSN and Xbox LIVE have been suffering from outages since yesterday. Because of the DDoS attacks — which are believed to stem from a group called Lizard Squad — the online portion of many games, including Destiny, NBA 2K15, and Grand Theft Auto 5 have been inaccessible.
For GTA 5, this meant the special limited-time Christmas Day inventory gifts in GTA Online were not able to be collected by players. Rockstar Games has decided to extend the gifts "for the time being."
As of the time of this writing, PSN is still down from ongoing DDoS attacks, while Xbox LIVE is reportedly up on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Here's the latest from Sony on the issue.
