As of midnight tonight, we will be exactly seven days away from the launch of 2018’s most anticipated game, Red Dead Redemption 2. With the launch comes Rockstar’s first brand new game in five years, a sequel to the acclaimed western over eight years after its initial release, and roughly seven years of development coming to an end.
Of course, Rockstar will continue working on the upcoming online mode which is set to launch in November and potentially other DLC but nothing has been announced regarding that. It’s been a long time coming but it appears it’ll be well worth the wait as those who have gone hands-on with the game have praised Rockstar’s unprecedented level of detail, their great storytelling about the end of an era of crime, and the thrilling gameplay.
Today, the beloved developer has released what is likely the last piece of footage from the game before launch via the one-minute launch trailer. It doesn’t reveal any new revelations for the narrative but gives us a look at the rising tensions in Dutch’s gang and some of the epic action that unfolds in America’s heartland.
You can watch the trailer below.
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26th, 2018 for Xbox One and PS4. Users can begin pre-loading the game at midnight tonight if you have pre-ordered digitally, which is highly recommended given the game weighs in at just under 90 GBs on both consoles.
