Rocksteady teases Suicide Squad game featuring Superman

Full unveil in two weeks

Developer Rocksteady has blown the lid on one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming. They are indeed working on a new superhero game but this time there looks to be a massive twist. The Suicide Squad game will be fully revealed on August 22nd.

The creators of the brilliant Batman Arkham series are finally returning to what they do best. Let gamers experience the thrills of legendary superheroes in games. After 2015’s Arkham Knight, things got suspiciously quiet around the developer and rumors started that they were working on a Superman game. It was… kind of right?

Today, we finally learn what that is. And it’s not Batman. At least not just. Rocksteady’s next game is centered around the ragtag group of villains, the Suicide Squad. You might have heard of it from the movie of the same name that came out in 2016.

All signs are pointing towards the Suicide Squad game putting the player in the role of iconic DC villains like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and co. and if the single teaser image is telling us one thing, it’s that these baddies are aiming for the top. None other than Krypton’s prodigal son Kal-El a.k.a. Superman is in the crosshairs.

It ‘s quite weird that Rocksteady and Warner Bros. have decided to reveal what is looking like their next major game with a Tweet but hey, at least the full game reveal will happen not too long after. Tune in to this year’s digital fan event for all things DC on August 22nd to catch a glimpse of the Suicide Squad game.

The reveal event is taking place only a couple of weeks before the other major superhero game, Marvel’s Avengers, launches. Unlike that one though, you’ll probably have to wait a good while to get your hands on the Suicide Squad game.
