Roguelike survival game, Iron Tides entering its final week on Kickstarter

Taking a game project to Kickstarter is a tough thing to do. And it's even harder to reach your goal if you aren't a prominent name. Iron Tides, a tactical roguelike survival game set in a beautifully realized 2-D Viking world, is one such game, and it needs your help in its last week on Kickstarter. The game is being developed by Crash Wave Games, a small indie team based in Vancouver, and are looking to overcome the challenges of the region in the wake of recent studio closures, namely United Front Games.

Earlier this year, Iron Tides went through the Square Enix Collective, earning an 85% approval rating from the community. Users were most excited at the game's Strategic Gameplay, Exploration, and Narrative offerings.

In Iron Tides, you play as a chieftan, leading your Warband on raids throughout the game's world. As your travel along, your warriors become fatigued and tired, so you have to balance when to fight and when to avoid one. At times, you may find the need to sacrifice some of your wounded so that your food stores don't deplete, so try not to get too attached. The glory of your Warband depends on it.

Here's a list of the game's features per an official press release:

  • A world without end: procedurally generated oceans full of dangers and riches
  • Viking colonies: discover lost Viking colonies to replenish your stocks, sell what you don’t need, and recruit fresh warriors
  • A place to call home: Return to Norhaven to celebrate your victories, purchase new wares and plan your next raid
  • Unique Vikings: no two Vikings are exactly alike as their skills are drawn from a pool of possible abilities and their upgrade path is procedurally generated
  • Permanent death for your crew: your lost warriors will not come back and help on the next raid

The Iron Tides Kickstarter campaign ends on Tuesday, November 1st, so if you're interested in contributing, don't wait too long to do so.
