Rome: Total War is coming to iPad this Fall with new features

Is it really a good idea?

The daily commute for gamers may get a little bit less boring with the classic Rome: Total War coming to iPad, allowing players to cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war from the comfort of their iPads.

One of the best strategy games of all time, The Creative Assembly's "Rome: Total War", is still very much alive twelve years after its initial release in 2004, it is already available on all PC operating systems, Windows, iOS, and Linux, and soon Rome: Total War will be available in the portable format on your iPad.

The iPad port will be developed by Feral Interactive, the same developers who made the iOS and Linux ports of most Total War games and they have proven over the years that they know how to port games, their library of ported games is a long one and they wouldn't be around if they didn't go quality work.

Feral Interactive promises that players will "Experience the full glory of ROME: Total War as you rule the ancient world from your iPad". Rome: Total War will be fully designed for iPads where players will "Benefit from a host of features designed specifically for mobile gaming".

Fans of the Total War franchise know that battles might take a while and that you can't always finish a battle, so to be even more user-friendly Feral Interactive has implemented mid-battle auto saving allowing players to wage war on the fly without having to worry about if they will have time to finish their battle or not.

Rome: Total War will conquer iPads around the world this fall, no exact date has been set yet, and will launch with 11 playable factions which is about 275 percent more factions than were available the latest PC game, Total War: Warhammer, at launch.

If playing a complex partially real time strategy game on an iPad is a good idea or not remains to be seen the game is already in development and is about to be released, alea iacta est.
