About a month ago, Ron Perlman sent out a tweet that called for the third and final movie of the Hellboy trilogy to be made. The tweet left Perlman having to “call studio executives to apologize.”
It seems as though Perlman really isn't very sorry for the tweet. He took to San Diego Comic-Con looking to build more hype around Hellboy III.
“If there’s a real honesty to fan-culture relationships, we owe the world the finale of Hellboy,” he said.“We set up the whole film. It’s a deal we made (with fans). I don’t want to do Hellboy IV or V. I want to finish the f*cking trilogy!” According to Perlman there have been talks with Guillermo del Toro concerning the series, but they haven't resulted in anything concrete. If the film is made it would focus on Hellboy becoming the beast of the Apocalypse in order to defend humanity.
