Rovio teases Angry Birds/Star Wars crossover

It looks like Rovio is gearing up for some sort of announcement regarding an Angry Birds / Star Wars collaboration. Over on the Angry Birds tumblr page, the company posted a new piece of artwork teasing a lightsaber-wielding bird. They don't say much about it, but it the image basically speaks for itself.

Rovio does encourage gamers to make sure they are at Times Square, New York at 10:00 am EST on October 8th, further adding that fans should head to Toys R Us at 8:00 am the same day. Perhaps some grand unveiling is planned?

Given Angry Birds recent exploration into space, it only makes sense that the next stop would be something Star Wars related. Check back on Monday morning to find out what it could be.
