RTS darling They Are Billions out of Early Access with new great campaign

Indie developer Numantian Games has proudly announced the graduation of their hit RTS game They Are Billions on PC from Steam Early Access. This version 1.0 of the popular strategy game comes with an entire new campaign titled The New Empire and new Survival Maps. Watch the trailer for the launch of the game’s new campaign here!

Probably no other game genre is as cemented on the PC platform as real-time strategy games. While action, RPG and sports titles can easily make the jump to consoles, strategy games represent developers a much more drastic challenge. This mostly comes from RTS games relying so heavily on quick contextual menus and rather complex UIs which are inherently easier to control with a mouse than a gamepad.

As such, PC gamers have long been enjoying a steady stream of great RTS games, with the most recent one being They Are Billions. The indie hit by Spanish studio Numantian Games originally launched in Steam Early Access in late 2017. The rather fresh idea of building, strategy in a zombie setting immediately became a success, with the developer continuously improving and adding to the game over the years.

Now, the journey is coming to an end with They Are Billions leaving Early Access with version 1.0. Besides the usual bug fixes, the main highlight of this full version of the game is a large, new campaign. The developer is promising more than 60hrs of gameplay with The New Empire campaign where players will assume the role of Quintus Crane, the ruler of the New Empire, and reclaim the lands which were destroyed by zombies.

Players will be able to start colonies and explore more than 90 technologies, build fortresses and annihilate the large  hordes of the undead. With The New Empire, the story behind the infection and long-lost ruins of previous civilizations are also going to be unearthed.

You can buy They Are Billions on Steam for $26.99.
