A few days ago, Geek.com reported that a huge (both literally and figuratively) Marvel character could be debuting with James Gunn upcoming movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Now 2 days later, Geek.com reports that 3 more members could also be joining the film. According to the post, viewers might be seeing Star Lord's (Chris Pratt) core group Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) teaming up with Yondu, Nebula, and Mantis.
You might remember both Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) from the original film, but Mantis will be a completely new character entering the MCU. And it is also rumored that Pom Klementieff is to play the character.
Mantis is part of the comics, as her story "ties into the Celestials, Kree cults, and the Guardians themselves." Her strongest skills are in martial arts, telepathy, and empathy.
These are just rumors though so none of these characters, including Ego, the sentient planet complete with a face and beard, are confirmed for the movie; only time will have to tell.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
