Rumor: Assassin’s Creed III promotional art leaked

Plenty of speculation has been tossed around regarding Assassin's Creed III. Following Revelations, many gamers believed the next entry in the series may take place during the American Revolution. Others have discussed a modern-day assassin's tale. Still others think it's going to take place in … the future!

OK, that last one may be a bit of a stretch, but hey, ya never know! Or maybe, you do know! Maybe Assassin's Creed III will take place during the American Revolution and not those other time periods. According to Kotaku, a Best Buy employee provided a screenshot of some promotional art for the upcoming action-adventure title.

The game's protagonist seems to be sporting an altered version of the outfits notably worn by Ezio and Altair. This time, the dude's wearing a sick military jacket and some chaps, which indicate that he may be of Native American descent. The character's ensemble also boasts jewelry which bears a strong resemblance to a lot of the stuff I used to see in history books when I was wee lad.

In addition to the supposed leaked image, the Best Buy employee who reached out to Kotaku stated that Assassin's Creed III was set to be revealed by Ubisoft on March 5. Of course, this is all a rumor at the moment. Still, let's hope Ubisoft addresses Assassin's Creed III soon. Check out the possible leaked image below.
