Rumor: Danish retailer lists Spider-Man PS4 for release in September 2018

Take it with a grain of salt.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man game for PlayStation 4 is confirmed to be coming at some point in 2018. With God of War penciled in for April 20th and Detroit: Become Human also hitting this Spring, the near future is looking pretty tight on the PlayStation exclusive front. With Days Gone and Spider-Man, the remaining known 1st party IP’s for Sony, projections on where they could end up would seem to put them somewhere towards the end of summer or early fall.

A Danish retailer, Cool Shop, who may or may not be merely throwing in placeholder dates, has listed Insomniac’s Spider-Man game for release on September 28th, 2018. It’s worth noting that the 28th is a Friday, which more and more developers seem keen on releasing their games on, and would seem to be enough distance from God of War, in particular, to be plausible.

However, there’s plenty of room for doubt as well. GearNuke reported two days ago that Cool Shop had placed a date of April 27th on the game, which seems wildly unrealistic from a distance considering that God of War would only be a week old.

Hence, we should probably take this new September 28th date with a grain of salt, especially since neither Insomniac nor Sony has come forward to announce anything.
