This week started off strong with an alleged Battlefield 5 DLC leak, followed by a rumor suggesting the next Call of Duty will be in space and now, someone has 'leaked' the plans for EA's 'Play' event that will be taking place this summer, June 12 – 14.
The Play event is EA's answer to removing themselves from the E3 2016 showfloor, a move they revealed in January.
According to the leaked event plans, EA will be revealing the following:
- Mass Effect: Andromeda for VR
- Gameplay for Andromeda
- Mercenaries 3
- Star Wars: Imperial Commando
- Battlefield 5: Eastern Front
- Star Wars Battlefront: Force Conflict (single-player campaign)
- Command and Conquer: Tiberium
In addition to that, the 'leak' suggests that Andromeda, Imperial Command, and Command and Conquer: Tiberium will be available on Nintendo's upcoming console, the NX. This suggests that Nintendo will reveal the console prior to June 12. The Battlefront 5 portion of the alleged leak ties into this week's rumor for the game, suggesting that 'Eastern Front' could be the title of the game.
However true we may wish this to be, there's one glaring item that makes it appear to quite fake. Former EA game development executive, Nick Earl, is listed as the individual that will be presenting the Mercenaries 3 reveal. Oddly enough, Earl left EA in November 2014 to head the mobile game company, Kabam.
Take a look at the supposed plans:
