Following the major rumor that suggested Microsoft is working on multiple new Xbox devices, a new rumor has surfaced that further details one of today's earlier rumors. According to previous rumors, Microsoft is planning on further uniting the Xbox and PC by bringing the Xbox interface to the PC.
It was suggested that Xbox will become a software and move away from being a console. This initiative wasn't exactly hidden by Microsoft, Phil Spencer has been talking about "unified gaming" since before March 2015 and Microsoft has already begun taking Xbox One exlcusives and making them available on the PC.
According to sources close to Kotaku, Microsoft has been hard at work on "Project Helix" – the project to unite Xbox and Windows.
"Developer sources have told us that Microsoft’s new mandate is to release future games–including the flagship Halo series–on both platforms. "
Fable Legends game was to be the flagship game of this convergence, unfortunately, that game – and the studio working on it – were canned.
Additionally, the Kotaku source hinted of a partnership with Oculus, however, that partnership had been announced in June 2015 when it was revealed that the Oculus Rift headset would ship with an Xbox One controller. It would only make sense for Microsoft to further pursue that partnership, as Sony will be offering their own virtual reality headset.
