Much like Star Wars: Rogue One, the currently untitled Han Solo film being directed by Ron Howard will be a prequel film. It will be focused on none other than Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich. As the story takes place from ages 18-24, it’s no surprise that we might get to see the Millennium Falcon as a fresh-off-the-market spaceship.
The plot of the film is very much under wraps, but we do know that the film will feature Han meeting Chewbacca for the first time and that it will tell the tale of how Han got the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian in the first place.
According to MakingStarWars.net, the timeline has the Millennium Falcon as a brand new ship when it’s owned by Lando. The ship reportedly has a different paint job: White with blue accents. A far cry from the familiar gray and red we’ve known for so long.
Some may have forgotten that the Millennium Falcon was a freighter ship. As such, the prequel version may feature an attachment hooked to the front that extends further, which can be detached in order to drop a shipment of illegal goods in case the pilot was pulled over by space cops.
While nothing is confirmed, the rumors are enough to get excited about. Not only do we get to see a young Han and Lando, but a shiny, young Falcon as well. Not to mention a tender moment between Chewbacca and his lover.
The film is slated for release on May 25, 2018.
