Rumor: Hawkgirl TV series in development at The CW

According to a report made by Spoiler TV, Hawkgirl is getting her own show on The CW adding to the already DC Comics heavy lineup. Actress Ciara Renee will be taking the role of Kendra Saunders, best known as Hawkgirl.

Renee made her first appearance in character during the season finale of The Flash and is slated to continue her role in a spin-off series that combines Arrow and The Flash. Reports suggest that if The CW moves forward with the show, it will bypass the pilot stage and go straight to series development.

Whether or not the standalone Hawkgirl show will serve as a prequel to the aforementioned spin-off has yet to be revealed.

The Flash/Arrow spin-off Legends of Tomorrow features tons of characters reprising their roles along with Renee's first appearance as Kendra Saunders – AKA Hawkgirl. Brandon Routh is returning as Ray Palmer/The Atom from Arrow, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold from The Flash, and Caity Lotz from Arrow (regardless of her character being killed off).
