Earlier this week, we learned Bill Murray, who played Dr. Peter Venkman in the original two Ghostbusters, will make an appearance in Paul Feig's upcoming reboot. And now, courtesy of Birth.Movies.Death, we might have a better idea for the type of role he'll have.
As expected, Murray won't be reprising his role as Dr. Venkman, but will instead play Martin Heis, a newly created character in this new rebooted universe. The site claims that the script for the movie specifies that the role was created for Murray.
So who is Martin Heiss?
"A professional debunker," the site explains, "who shows up and 'proves' the new Ghostbusters fakes." Heiss is said to be a "tiny role" that's "sort of the mirror image of where we meet Peter Venkman at the start of Ghostbusters II."
While it's acknowledged that Murray might not have taken this role, as there have already been some small changes to the script, the belief is that if Murray wanted a different role Paul Feig would oblige.
Dan Aykroyd, another of the original Ghostbusters, will also have a small cameo in the film, appearing as a cab drive who supposedly drops the line "I ain't afraid of no ghosts."
