Rumor: LA Noire Part Two has allegedly leaked from Rockstar

Update: It may be an elaborate hoax, as outlined in this video from ZacCoxTV

Original story:

In 2011, Rockstar released a new IP in the form of a 1940s detective drama known as LA Noire. It did fairly well for a new IP but nowhere near the meteoric success found by Rockstar’s big hitters like GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 but it seems a return to the IP may be happening in the near future.

The existence of a sequel to the detective title may have been leaked through a YouTube listing for music from the soundtrack of “LA Noire Part Two”. To make it even more interesting, Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company) is the company listed as having published this music.

The listing appeared as follows: “Provided to YouTube by Take-Two Interactive Break My Stride – Matthew Wilder The Music of L.A Noire Part Two ℗ 2020 Warner Chappell Music. Released on: 2020-03-13 Auto-generated by YouTube.”

The surprising listing has spawned lots of confusion speculation regarding a 1980s time period for the alleged sequel given the song listed was released in 1983.

The listing for LA Noire Part Two is no longer available but you can watch the video below from WhatCulture to get a better idea of what was found.

Rockstar has been testing the waters for the franchise for a few years now. In 2017, they released a remaster of LA Noire on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Shortly after that, a VR version of the game which had select cases fit for the medium was released on PC and then on PSVR in 2019. It would seem Rockstar is interested in making LA Noire relevant again but only time will tell if it’s actually happening.

This isn’t the first time a Rockstar game has randomly leaked, though. A few years ago, a new Midnight Club was listed on Xbox Live’s servers but obviously, it has yet to be released or even announced.

We’ve reached out to Rockstar for comment but haven’t received a response at the time of publishing.

LA Noire is available now on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC as well as last-gen consoles.
