[Rumor] List of games for unannounced Nintendo 64 Classic leaks

Unless Nintendo suddenly decides that they don’t like raking in ridiculous sums of cash, the Nintendo 64 Classic feels like all but an inevitable confirmation in the making. While we wait for that day to come, it seems as though Nintendo has leaked their own list of games for the upcoming console courtesy of YouTuber John Riggs. The list comes from the Nintendo UK website, which you can check out here and consists of what Riggs calls “18 plus 1” games.

Here’s the list:

  • 1080 Snowboarding
  • Bomberman 64
  • Donkey Kong 64
  • Excitebike 64
  • F-Zero X
  • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
  • Mario 64
  • Mario Golf
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Mario Party 2
  • Mario Tennis
  • Paper Mario
  • Pokemon Snap
  • Sin and Punishment
  • Star Fox 64
  • Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
  • Wave Race 64
  • Yoshi’s Story

Much like the SNES Classic, which packaged in the never-before-released Star Fox 2, Riggs asserts that the N64 Classic’s “plus 1” is the Japanese-only Sin and Punishment that never made its way state-side on the Nintendo 64. It did, however, eventually come out on Virtual Console for the Wii, so it doesn’t feel entirely as exclusive as Star Fox 2 did for the SNES Classic.

Obviously, the notable exclusion is Goldeneye as it seems licensing issues persist to get that game on anything newer than the Nintendo 64. And no, the 2010 Wii remake doesn’t count.

Overall, it seems like a fairly comprehensive list, though it is lacking the original Smash Bros., but it could very well be that the list is incomplete as of this moment. Until we hear the final word on the inevitable N64 Classic reveal, take this rumor as you will.
