There has been all sorts of rumors going around about Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Who are Rey's parents? Can Kylo be saved? Etc. A new report today from Makingstarwars has revealed a possible major plot role for Finn when the film releases this December.
According to the report, Finn goes undercover as a First Order officer and sneaks aboard one of their main ships in order to plant explosives. The ship will be a super star destroyer and the main hub for the First Order. While on the ship, a storm trooper who knows Finn will see him in his new uniform and slap him on the ass. Clearly not knowing what happened on Starkiller Base, the trooper congratulates him on his "promotion" and goes on his way. The storm trooper, of course, will be the cameo role by Tom Hardy.
It will be the second major cameo, as The Force Awakens had Daniel Craig portray the Storm Trooper that Rey first used her powers against. It seems to reveal a major plot point for the film with Finn attempting to blow up the ship. If successful, it leaves open a lot of questions as well for episode 9.
