Earlier today, industry-tech blogger Paul Thurott announced that his sources have confirmed that Microsoft is gearing up for their next-generation Xbox reveal event, which is reportedly taking place on May 21. The May date differs from the speculated “late April” timeframe that was reported on last month, but seems to carry a bit of weight after tech site The Verge confirmed Thurott’s statement through their anonymous sources.
If true, Microsoft’s event will fall on the cusp of the E3 madness that’s surely to ensue this June in Los Angeles, California, which will likely influence what the public will see at the event – an event The Verge detailed further:
“Sources familiar with Microsoft's Xbox plans have revealed that the event will be at a small venue with a focus on providing the very first details on the next Xbox, codenamed Durango, and Microsoft's plans for Xbox in 2013.”
These rumors come only hours after the breaking story from Eurogamer that touched on the next-Xbox’s differing price-points in relation to a cheaper, subscription model next-Xbox. If you have yet to read through that enticing report, head on over to this link.
