Rumor: Microsoft to announce Elite Series during Gamescom 2015

In just under an hour Microsoft will begin their Gamescom 2015 conference stream that is promised to show off E3 2015's absentees: Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound. Xbox's Phil Spencer has teased that Gamescom would bring "new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10," along with a look at the trio that missed out on E3.

Prior to the event, Microsoft began registering new domains, looking to secure sites before squatters could get their hands on them. Interestingly enough, Microsoft registered a domain for something they had yet to tease or reveal, Xbox Elite Series.

Looking back at Microsoft's past endeavors we see another portion of the "Elite Series," the Xbox One Elite controller that was revealed in June. The controller came with the hefty price of $150 a number of swappable features like paddles, thumbsticks and D-Pads. It was a controller aimed at competitive Xbox gamers.

Furthering the Elite Series, Microsoft could very well be bringing a brand new version of the Xbox One, Elite Headsets, or even Elite Xbox One Mouse and Keyboard add-ons. Microsoft did say they were looking at bringing mouse support to the console (keyboards are already support).

Either way, heads up!
