It appears as though Activision has a “five-year plan” for the Crash Bandicoot franchise after Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy saw stellar sales.
It’s no surprise that Activision will pursue more games in the franchise. The published already noted that the sales for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy piqued their interest in more remasters. It only makes sense for them to stick with something they know will sell.
According to Max Arguile, Licensing Manager of GB Eye (a licensed merchandising company in Europe), Activision’s five-year plan for Crash Bandicoot includes the following:
- A Nintendo Switch and PC port of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- A new Crash Bandicoot game in 2019
- Support and/or development of Crash titles through 2022
Dan Tanguay, the director of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, has noted that he is working on an unannounced game. While fans hoped this meant a Spyro remaster, it’s possible that this unnamed title might be the 2019 Crash Bandicoot game.
Multiple listings of an Xbox One port for the N. Sane Trilogy have appeared, however, no announcements or confirmations have been made.
With all of the success around the remaster, it’s no surprise that the franchise would see more remasters. The question is, when will Activision consider Spyro good enough to get the remaster it deserves?
