From what we know, the next Assassin's Creed will be called Assassin's Creed: Origins and will be set in Egypt, as was rumored previously. New details on the game have surfaced, thanks to a source close the project who corresponds with WWG.
The 'source' is not an official release from Ubisoft, so take this information with a grain of salt.
According to the sources, the game will be open world, will focus more on exploration, will feature a character progression system, and will see the return of naval combat.
As for the exploration and open world, it was suggested that Egypt will not be the limits of the game. Players may be able to travel by ship to Greece (of course, with a couple battles along the way). The character progression system will be less tied to the story and was compared to Skyrim's progression style.
Additionally, it was said that the game will feature both a female and male protagonist, like Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is currently set to launch in fall 2017.
