Back in 2015, Nintendo revealed their initiative to develop smartphone games, saying that they planned to release five smartphone games by March 2017. We haven't seen five games yet, but we have seen Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes release.
That's not all that Nintendo is throwing out there, though.
According to sources close to Nintendo who relayed information to The Wall Street Journal, Nintendo is planning to make a 'The Legend of Zelda' game for smartphones. No release window for this title was detailed, however, it was suggested that it would be coming after the 'Animal Crossing' app releases in the "latter half of 2017."
Last year, Nintendo detailed that they would be releasing a mobile Animal Crossing game in the Fall, but we haven't seen much of the game.
In addition to the Zelda mobile game news, sources suggested that there would be a new mobile Pokemon card game.
There's a good chance that we will be hearing about at least one of these games during Nintendo's E3 Direct.
