Earlier this week it was rumored that Warner Bros. is trying to adapt the two-part West End stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, into a movie and that they are looking for Daniel Radcliffe to help them make it happen by reprising his role as Harry Potter.
In the past, Radcliffe has stated that he wasn't planning on returning to the Harry Potter universe anytime soon and the author/creator of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling made it clear she didn't want to see the play made into a film.
Warner Bros has come out to squash that rumor with a single statement:
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a stage play, with no plans for there to be a film."
Our Harry Potter fix will need to be satisfied by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in the meanwhile. The upcoming film is set to release on November 18, 2016, starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Gemma Chan, Ron Perlman, and Ezra Miller.
