Rumor: Paypal chargeback on PSN transactions might’ve dropped the ban hammer on “thousands”

If you're in the UK and a PlayStation owner that uses Paypal, you might have had your PSN account suspended thank to Paypal.

According to a report from Kotaku UK,  an internal source at Paypal is claiming that the online payment service issued a 'massive' chargeback on "thousands" of PSN transactions. These chargebacks have triggered the ban system, which is activated when PSN accounts fall into debt. It's unclear why Paypal initiated the chargeback, but it seems as though the issue is mainly in the UK.

It is being reported that Sony is currently in discussion with Paypal to resolve the issue. In the meanwhile, you can tell if you have been affected by the chargeback by checking your email.

There is no further information available at the moment.
