There have been plenty of rumors building up the PlayStation 4 console codenamed 'Neo,' The console is pretty much no longer a 'rumor,' as developers have claimed that devkits for the console have been sent out and now a game distributor is suggesting that the console's release is closer than we think.
According to French video games distributor Innelec Multimedia, as reported by Videogamer, the console will release prior to October 2016.
This release window comes from Innelec's most recent earnings results that refer to the "Neo 4K" as the "evolution" of Sony's PS4. With Innelec's financial year running from April 2016 to March 2017 and the console releasing sometime before October, we can deduce that between now and September 2016 the next PS4 will be revealed and released.
This likely means that Sony will make some kind of reference to the console during E3. This puts the next 4K to release before the PS VR… Which would make sense. The VR requires a stable framerate that the Neo has been rumored to produce.
I'll go out on a limb and say this release window is likely.
