Newly surfaced information suggests publisher Take Two will reveal the long-rumored sequel to Red Dead Redemption at its E3 2016 showing.
Fraghero reports learning of the sequel’s impending announcement from an anonymous source claiming to be close to an ex-Rockstar Games employee. The source said the game’s full title is Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West, and pegged it for a fall 2017 release.
Additionally, the source said Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature multiple playable characters, and a “much bigger” world than the original. This reflects what is arguably the source’s boldest claim: that the sequel has been in development for four years, meaning it started less than two years after the original Red Dead Redemption released.
Neither Rockstar nor Take Two have confirmed or denied any of this information, so don’t get your six shooters out just yet. With that said, numerous tipsters have pointed to Red Dead 2 over the past few years, and Take Two did say it will have a big presence at E3 2016. For now, all we can do is wait.
