Red Dead Redemption has been a fan favorite ever since it launched back in 2010 and since then, fans have been hoping & praying for a sequel. However, with all the recent rumors, no one could tell if it will become official or not, until now that is.
Earlier today, the reported Red Dead Redemption 2 map was leaked online. It was first spotted on
NeoGaf by user Mideon that claims he received it from a source he will not mention. Soon after, the image was taken down, but by then it was too late and the image was scattered across the internet.
TechRadar followed up on the rumored map by stating that the "map is indeed the real deal" from a source close to the development of the new Red Dead game.
Take a look at the screenshot down below:
TechRadar's source not only confirms that this is a very recent, and a real copy of the map, but also confirms that instead of a proper sequel, the game will be a prequel. The lack of railroad tracks matches the claim of a prequel title.
However, despite the missing railroads, it looks like a new gameplay feature will include boat travel. As you can see in the picture above, the right side is filled with little islands which will presumably be able to explore either by boat or swimming. The game is "supposedly" taking place a little more East than the original game, as you can see from the image down below, there is a lot of similarities between the two maps.
Let us know in the comments below if you like the idea of a prequel Red Dead Redemption instead of a sequel!
