Rumor: Rogue One to star The Force Unleashed’s Starkiller

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens just over three months away, it's no surprise the general silence around Star Wars: Rogue One – even though it's already in production! It looks like we have some information on the film, thanks to Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen possibly revealing the name of the character he will be portraying in Rogue One!

During FanExpo this past past weekend, a fan managed to grab Mikkelsen's autograph (alongside other autographs). As you can see above, Mikkelsen obliged and signed the fan's paper in what appears to be silver permanent marker. Below his signature he wrote, 'Galen.'

Judging by the other signatures with names written under them, like Kit Fisto, it appears that Galen is the name of Mikkelsen's character.

If you are familiar with Star Wars games, the name Galen might sound familiar. The main character of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is named Galen Marek, but you might remember him better as Starkiller – the secret apprentice if Darth Vader. Mikkelsen's Galen could be the same as the game's however, once Disney took over the franchise to make the upcoming films they essentially removed him from canon. They needed to recreate a world for their films and books to live in… That doesn't mean they can borrow from the previously established universe.

Galen could either be a tip of the hat from Disney to the game or Starkiller's in. Either way, we have a name.
