Rumor: Shovel Knight making his way to Smash Bros.

In a recent discussion over at SourceGaming between Liam (Tamaki) and Neo Zero (an admin on SmashBoards), have both found reasons to believe that Shovel Knight will be making his way over to Smash Bros. in the near future.

Liam (Tamaki), also know as Doctor_Cupcakes on Twitter, has multiple sources confirming that this rumor is true, both of which are involved in retail and the video games industry. Liam has proven many times before stating that his rumors always have a legitimate source. Liam also states that Shovel Knight will be a fully new playable character, not just a skin of the character.

Yacht Club Games is also very close to announcing their new expansion for Shovel knight which is called Plague of Shadows. Perhaps this weekend at PAX Prime we will see both announcements being made.

In related news, GAME took to Twitter to announce a new Shovel Knight amiibo, but their tweet was quickly taken down. The retailer confirms prior reports suggesting an official Shovel Knight amiibo is indeed in the works.

The physical version of Shovel Knight will be coming to North America on October 13th and Europe on October 16th. The physical copy will cost $20 and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, and 3DS.
