Nintendo surprise announced the SNES Classic earlier this week with 21 games and two controllers for the price of $79.99. Globally the console has seen a staggered launch for pre-orders, but there's one region that hasn't gotten in on the pre-order madness for the SNES Classic — the United States.
While the pre-order page for the SNES Classic is available on Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon, retailers that are also listing the Xbox One X, not all online retailers have listed the SNES Classic or the Xbox One X. GameStop, ToysRUs and Target have refrained from creating a product page for either gaming platform.
There's something that those three retailers have in common – Neither GameStop, ToysRUs or Target list items that have not been approved by the FCC. Speculation on whether the SNES Classic has been approved by FCC and if not has been raised and if so, if that is the reason why the device has yet to be available for pre-order.
Hopefully the SNES Classic is available soon!
