Rumor: The Green Lantern Corps movie has found its director

If you were among the many who were disappointed by 2011's Green Lantern movie, nobody would blame you if your trust was shaken. But the bridge may be slowly being rebuilt with this latest rumor, if it is indeed true. According to Umberto Gonzalez, co-host of Heroic Insider, George Miller is allegedly rumored to be directing DC's Green Lantern Corps movie.

The Green Lantern Corps is due to release in 2020 with many other movies including both Justice League movies, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg releasing in between. No doubt Ryan Reynolds left a sour taste in many fans mouths, so it's clear that DC is steering the attention towards other heroes until they feel confident enough in the brand to reintroduce it to the public.

The Green Lantern Corps movie was revealed back in January during a primetime special event called DC Films: Dawn of the Justice League. My gut tells me that since DC can't afford another meltdown like 2011's Green Lantern movie, they will look to snag an established and respected name to help return the Green Lantern to prominence.
