Naughty Dog's The Last of Us is coming to the PS4 this summer, according to PlayStation's Eurasian Software Market Manager Sercan Sulun. Speaking in a video posted on Turkish website Multiplayer (via NeoGAF) Sulun said we won't be getting a sequel to The Last of Us any time soon, but that we can expect a next-gen port with enhanced graphics, and the Left Behind DLC included, to arrive this summer.
A Turkish speaker provided IGN with a more direct translation of Sulun's comment:
"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically."
"The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well."
The statement from Sulun, who is a high-ranking member Sony, with the company since August 2012, falls in line with that of a thinly-sourced rumor we heard in February. Last month, a tipster on the official PlayStation forums talked of a Game of the Year edition of The Last of Us due out "around July 2014."
Other than a "we'll see" from developer Naughty Dog, there's actually little in terms of actual evidence of a PS4 version of The Last of Us. Though I think we can all agree it'd be smart of Sony to bring its fastest selling new IP to the PS4.
