Rumor: The Nintendo Switch has a maximum battery life of 3 hours

Disclaimer: As is the norm (since some like to ignore the word "rumor") everything you read here is 100% unconfirmed. If you don't know what "unconfirmed" means, copy and paste the word into Google. That said, here we go.

So one of the biggest burning questions after the official reveal was how long the battery life is. After all, we spent three consecutive minutes watching some people in a variety of social situations use the Switch as a party starter, airport distraction and even a "Hey guys that was a good game of basketball, now let's play virtual basketball while still at the court!" type of scenario.

Totally realistic btw.

So how long can you expect to play the Switch at the basketball court? Not quite as long as you might have hoped if these rumors are true.

Laura Kate Dale, a heavily connected game writer from Bournemouth, has been swirling like a hawk around anything and everything Switch over the last several months. She says that a connection from Ubisoft has told her to expect "a maximum battery life of three hours" while another from Nintendo describes it as "mediocre."

Here's a Tweet from Dale regarding the Battery Life:

Truthfully, this doesn't seem to be too farfetched. The Switch will be running games that require far more power than any mobile device currently has on offer, so you can't expect the same amount of play time. That said, whatever social situation you find yourself in could make it so that three hours is more than adequate.

Do you really see yourself hanging out in Starbucks (or any other food and beverage place) for three hours playing Mario Kart or Smash? They don't like it when you don't buy anything btw not to mention that most of them have power outlets anyway.
