The untitled Han Solo film is set to begin filming this month for a summer (or December) 2018 release. We know basically nothing about this movie aside from a few cast members and the fact it'll be a prequel. We don't know where in Han Solo's life this is, what adventure he'll go on, or anything else. However, one actor and his potential role in the movie is being thrown around.
Hunger Games star Woody Harrelson is reportedly the top choice to play a mentor role in the Han Solo film. Reports say that the actor is still in discussion to play the role and it is unclear if Woody Harrelson will accept the role. This does raise questions for the plot of the film. It's entirely possible that Harrelson could be a master thief or bounty hunter and takes Solo under his wing to show him how to pull off tough, illegal tasks with elegance. Of course, this is just speculation.
The Hollywood Reporter also reported that Batman himself, Christian Bale, was once up for the role but it sounds as if he's out of the running.
The untitled Han Solo film will release in May of 2018 (but is rumored to change to a December date to keep tradition) and will star Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando, and Game of Thrones' Emila Clarke as an unknown role.
