Runic Games celebrates Torchlight 2 in Asia with new pets

Runic Games is localizing Torchlight 2 for Asia, and to celebrate launch in those regions, it's introducing some new pets.

One is (surprise!) a panda. The developer tweeted today that the pet would be available with the next patch.

Different companies are releasing the action-role-playing game in Japanese, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese.

Runic will reveal two more pets soon, and all three of them will be available to players around the world regardless of country.

The developer also confirmed to one Twitter follower that it's not planning console versions. That sets the title apart from its rival, Diablo 3, which Blizzard is bringing exclusively to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It will reportedly work with offline multiplayer as opposed to the controversial always-online PC version.

Torchlight 2 has sold more than 1 million copies since its debut on September 20, 2012.
