I'm not excited about the possibility of a Rush Hour TV show. I don't think the movie will translate well into a TV series; hell, it didn't translate well into two movie sequels. And I don't want to see two actors of lesser quality do not as good of a job as Lee and Carter as Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker did.
But what do I know.
The buddy cop action/comedy TV Series adaptation of the movie Rush Hour is from Scrubs' and Cougar Town's Bill Lawrence, and we finally have some details on the characters. During the TCA press tour, Lawrence said that "[The Rush Hour series has a] new plot, same characters, a little younger, a little different, fish out of water… It's a cool script. I'm psyched about it."
As for the character of Lee, Lawrence added, "The character [Lee] will be a martial artist but you know how TV works… I'm going to go with the best actor and then I'll make anything work."
This just doesn't sound good at all, but maybe I'm in the minority about it. What do you think of the Rush Hour TV series?
