Ryan Gosling in negotiations to star in Blade Runner sequel

Hollywood hotty Ryan Gosling is reportedly in negotiations to star in Alcon Entertainment's sequel to the 1982 cult classic Blade Runner.

At this point, it's not yet known what role Gosling is being considered for, as we don't really know much about the sequel's plot, but I've got a good feeling about this. Sure, Gosling has starred in his fair share of rom-coms, but his role in Drive leads me to believe he'll be perfect for a part in Blade Runner — assuming it has a similar feel to the 1982 classic directed by Ridley Scott.

Scott isn't directed the sequel, but he is on board to executive produce the film. Instead, Denis Villeneuve is in the director's chair with Hampton Fancher — co-writer of the original film — and Michael Green having already written the original screenplay based on an idea by Fancher and Scott. We do know that it'll take place several decades after the conclusion of the original film and will see the return of Harrison Ford in his original role as replicant hunter Rick Deckard.

The Blade Runner sequel is scheduled to start principal photography in summer 2016.
