Ryan Gosling is ready to broaden his horizons. The 31-year-old actor… wait, he's 31? God, I'm 28 and I look like sh*t compared to him. Anyways, the 31-year-old actor will write and direct How to Catch a Monster; it's a "modern day fairytale" that stars Christina Hendricks (Drive) as a single mom that is "swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town." Wow. Quite the description, and I still don't really know what it's about.
Gosling said, "I am very appreciative to [producers] Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bold Films for being so supportive and I look foward to making this film with all of them."
With a career that started with a role on Are You Afraid of the Dark, Gosling has starred in Young Hercules, Remember the Titans, The Notebook, Lars and the Real Girl, Drive, Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Ides of March, and Gangster Squad. Oh, and on IMDB it says that Logan's Run is announced, and he's in it.
As an actor, he's grown on me and has just gotten better and better. I'm looking forward to learning more about How to Catch a Monster and seeing if writing and directing is something he could do more of in the future.
